Oak Lodge School/Central London - June 9, 2014

This morning we went to Oak Lodge School to meet their students for the first time.  After a quick breakfast, we hopped two trains to get close to Oak Lodge School before walking the rest of the way.  The students from Oak Lodge warmly welcomed us and we participated in their physical education classes including a Tai Chi class.  Our students enjoyed these activities immensely.  After physical education was finished, we had a quick breakfast before departing for a tour of Central London.

Our first stop was Buckingham Palace.  Everyone enjoyed watching the guards protect the palace.  We were curious about the presence of the queen and she could possibly doing all day in a place that large. We then walked past St. James Park and saw the sights of Parliament Square including Westminster Abby, Westminster Palace and Big Ben.  After taking a lot of pictures, we hopped the subway to the Tower London where we saw the Tower as well as the Tower Bridge.

Our next stop was the the Borough of Greenwich where we headed for dinner at the Gipsy Moth Pub.  We all boarded the light rail line and after a 30 minute ride arrive in Greenwich.  There we did some shopping prior to eating dinner.  Once dinner was done, we rode several trains to return to our hotel where we were able to simply relax.  Again we walked 10+ miles today.  That is almost 30 miles in three days.

Tomorrow we will participate in kayaking and other water activities with students from Oak Lodge School.
